I didn't make it to top 10 in Talent Green House. As they say, journey is what natters😘 I did gain so much knowledge i feel like my brain still hurts😆
My inspiration was Ukrainian flower crown and ribbons. As I think our hair is our ribbons that has our history dosent matter where we are from. We all have story to tell✨️
This project and my friend helped me to find strength in last several months and reminded me how much I love doing hair.

The final look

I'm grateful to be part of Talent Green House contest as it gave me an amazing opportunity to learn more beyond the chair, improve my skills and to find new inspiration.

There's a lot of different ways how we can color hair these days. Anything from foils, freehand painting to pouring few different colours on top of the hair or using all kinds of tools - haircoloring brush, using hands, makeup brushes, painters brushes and so on.

In first challenge my inspiration was something almost forgotten. Ukrainian flower head piece with colored ribbons. But also something so ever-changing and always present - hair strands (just as ribbons with different color and meanings). Always reminding us about sunkissed locks from last summer or the texture of our grandmother's hair that we inherited.

It's human nature to search for meaning of life and belonging.

As a society we went through a lot in last few years but we have all been searching for something familiar, something comforting.

When I was looking at trend forecasting I though that we just might need to bring back something from the past. And this is how my idea for final challenge was born...

Back to the roots ✨️

Salon life is busy as never before. Stylists need to know so many techniques to be able keep up with demands of our clients. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming deciding what to use to create the best look for a client.

I've created this technique to help stylists have a structure and a map for faster color service process that can be easily adjusted to any head shape and give the best results. This method can be used when going darker from previous full bleach color, working with color correction or even to enhance that sunkissed look by using same mapping and lighter hair color.

Create a new trendsetting technique. Concept must be inspired by the Portraits of the People.
Technique needs to be inspirational for the end consumer, commercial, yet fashion forward. Must be fast and efficient within a salon inviroment and within a regular client schedule. Create 3 videos showcasing your new technique on a model. Total video time must be 12-15 minutes.

Challenge three was about self branding, photography, video and social media management, phew. This one was complete took me out of comfort zone 😆
I'm waking up every morning, feeling so grateful I had a chance to go through this program. It was a lot of work, and my mind and my heart was on the other side of the planet for most of last six months...
This program helped me to learn many new skills and reignate my passion for hair. It help me to become stronger and reminded me how much I love what I do 💗💗💗

My second challenge was Trend Predictions and this

My second challenge was Trend Predictions and this is what I came up with.

In predicting future trends we will see impact of the pandemic through designs that promote travel, celebration, and sustainability. We also saw that the mood is shifting from one of uncertainty and survivalism to adaptability and creativity.

The rise of slow fashion and education about sourcing and producing more responsibility are changing mindset, as well as pandemic hobbies like baking and gardening that reintroduced consumers to caring about raw ingredients.

And same would project into hair trends. Clients will be looking for products that are sustainable, good for the body and the planet. They will be looking into colors that last longer and enhance natural beauty. And raising interest in some bright color accent (which we start seeing coming out of lockdowns?)
With inflation and rising cost of life clients might look to go longer between appointments in order to have better service, products and experience.
People are fascinated in watching nature grow and committing to own personal growth. They are looking to go back to raw ingredients, to reunite and crlebrate as a way to heal after a couple of years behind apart. We can see the urge to look for ways rediscover the spark and break the mould.

Being selected in top 100 Talent Green House is such a great opportunity, amazing experience and I'm absolutely grateful for it.

I am Ukrainian, and I am a hairdresser. I've always had passion for hair. It brings me the biggest joy in my life.

The first image that came up in my mind while I was reading through the Module 1 information was head wreath and ribbons of a traditional Ukrainian head piece.

It's an important part of my heritage and culture. Futhermore, our hair truly is a decoration of our head. We take care of it and always want it to look best. I imagine that each ribbon from the wreath is like a hair strand. These ribbons come in different colors where every color has a meaning, and usually there's many colors of strands in our hair, even though we just call it blonde or brown. Each strand has a history throughout our life or even before we are born, genetically programmed to become something unique. Each hair strand, no matter if straight, curly, set in style or just flows naturally carries history of our ancestry in the form of DNA.

Working with hair for me is like using the fabric of our past to create something new and exciting, it is what keeps me going and striving to learn new techniques and expand my horizons.
